Sita Ram Goel wrote in 1981 that Hindu society is under siege, and that it is under threat of getting destroyed from many sides. This is a common concern of many nationalists. Although a lot of Hindus agree that there is something which is capable of destroying Hindu society, everyone has their own idea of what is that ‘something’? Some think that the lower birth rate of Hindus will make them first a minority community inside India, and then lead to their ultimate destruction. Some think that is their false sense of universal tolerance which lets even terrorism thrive. Others believe that it is their false sense of equivalence of all religions captured in the title of ‘sarva-dharma-samabhava’. Some believe, even within the camp of nationalists, that it is their caste or casteism which will lead to the ruin of Hindu society.
So what is it? This big question delves into this concern which evinces varied answers from varied actors and stakeholders ,and tries to attract the attention of the reader towards all the threats that Hindu society face, leaving the choice open for the reader as to what he considers the greatest threat to Hindu society.
